Snowmobile Operator Certification
The
Snowmobile Operator Certification Course is a 6-8 hour training course
whereby the successful student will learn proper, practical, safe
snowmobile riding skills. The course is 20% theoretical and 80%
practical, as opposed to current 100% theoretical training often seen.
The successful graduate will receive a nationally recognized Canada
Safety Council Snowmobile Ridercourse certification.
This course meets the Occupational Health and Safety requirements of a training certification for snowmobile operators.
All
learning materials are provided for the course. The student rider will
need to bring their own safety equipment which will include the
following:
- Approved snowmobile helmet (CSA, Snell, ANSI, and DOT).
- Eye protection (goggles, impact resistant glasses, visor).
- Appropriate clothing for the weather
The
student is also expected to provide their own snowmobile, which must
pass a pre-course safety check prior to being allowed on the course.
It
is recommended that the student have a good breakfast prior to the
course and bring a lunch and water. The course is physically demanding.
Training is held in all but extreme weather and therefore appropriate
clothing should be brought.
A minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 students are required for this course.
